The Process of Ordering a Pet Portrait
Step 1 - Fill out pet portrait request form
First, you will need to provide me all of the information required for your pet portrait. Please submit one form per pet portrait you would like completed. If you wish for me to put multiple pets on one pet portrait, you will only need to submit one form.
REGARDING REFERENCE PHOTOS: Please take a look at my "Reference Photo Requirements" page when sending me photos of your pet. In order to guarantee a high-quality and accurate portrait, it is important that you give me photos that are high-resolution, at a good distance, and in natural lighting.
Step 2 - We chat!
Once I receive your submitted form and ensure that the photos you have included are adequate, I will reach out to you to go over the details of the pet portrait to ensure we are on the same page with everything. I will then tell you when my next available timeslot is and provide you with an invoice for the total cost of the pet portrait and any add-ons you may wish to include. I require a 25% down payment at this time in order to secure your spot, which will be refundable up until I begin your portrait.
I will reach out to you again right before I am about to start your portrait, at which time the remaining payment will be due.
Step 3 - The portrait process
Throughout the process of creating your portrait, I will provide you with WIP (work-in-progress) pictures to show you where I am in the process, unless of course you opted out of this when you submitted your form. Before my final varnishing/matting (depending on the portrait you chose), I will send you a photo of the final product. At this point, you may request any changes you think are necessary to give you the perfect pet portrait. Minor changes are no issue at all and I will happily accommodate these, however any large changes that will take a considerable amount of time for me to correct may be subject to an additional fee, as will be discussed at the time.
Typically, it takes me approximately 1-2 weeks from start to finish to complete your pet portrait. If you need a rush order and I am available to do so, I will do my best to accommodate your timeline. Please notify me of any time constraints prior to beginning your pet portrait.
Step 4 - I pack & ship
The exciting part! Once you have approved the final portrait, I will varnish (for paintings) or mat (for drawings) your portrait, carefully pack it to ensure it's safe arrival to you, and ship it via Canada Post.
Approximate Shipping Times:
Ontario: 1-3 Business Days
Rest of Canada & U.S.: Approximately 1 Week
Please add an additional 1-2 weeks if you ordered a Pet Portrait Add-On, as I will not be able to create your add-on until after receiving your approval of your pet portrait.
